Most job seekers put very little time into their cover letter, typically ten minutes or less. Also job seekers will find a “form” cover letter online, make a few modifications then send it off to a perspective employer.  This is one of the worst things you can do. The cover letter is a way to connect in a conversation with a hiring manager; it lets you exhibit your personality and self-confidence.  The cover letter allows you to display much more about yourself than a resume will.  This brings up the question, what type of cover letter is more powerful?  A conventional cover letter that everyone will submit or a video cover letter?

Let’s first start with what a video cover letter is and why you should have a video cover letter. It is a fairly simple concept of a video cover letter, you are taking the bland cover letter that blends into other job candidates cover letters and using a video in replace of the typical cover letter. The video cover letter is an overview of your experience in how it relates to the position you are applying for. You are creating the “wow” factor for your cover letter instead of the usual cover letter that has no impact on a hiring manager.

Technology, this word means many things to different people.  However those seeking to change or upgrade careers, or re-enter the workforce, technology takes on a whole different meaning.  Technology, goes beyond the world of social media: LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter.  It goes beyond networking or utilizing job databases in getting employment.  Technology and its proper use can make the difference between employment or not.

This Video is to show you the type of hire that I will be.  My initiative is not only to get hired for the position, but to grow and develop within the company.  My skills and track record are infectious.  Not only will I have an impact on the bottom-line in personal production, I will make an impact on the entire team.
